We’re busy preparing for the biggest date in the UK show calendar, as HRC (formally known as Hotelympia) returns to ExCeL London from 3–5 March. A showcase for the entire industry, True will use the event to debut innovative solutions to the UK market, plus display key pieces from our extensive foodservice and display refrigeration ranges in the Professional Kitchen area of the show, stand P500.
Our experts will be speaking to operators about their refrigeration requirements and finding out what effect recent regulatory changes have had on their business strategy. With the F-Gas Regulation ban on R404A in place and R134A to follow, we are asking operators ‘What is your HFC exit plan?’
But what else can you expect from one of the UK’s most prominent catering equipment shows?
As the industry continues to focus on the importance of fresh products and locally sourced delights, revelers must make a stop at The Covered Market.
The Covered Market serves as one of the highlight attractions of the show, aimed at chefs, F&B purchasers, and restaurateurs. Take this opportunity to meet with local, independent raw ingredient suppliers face-to-face, hear their story and gain an understanding of how their produce will help transform your menus.
The Covered Market covers artisanal producers across six specialist categories, including bakery, butchery, herbs, spices, and pulses.
A variety of dairy products will also be available to taste at The Covered Market.
As well as grabbing a bite to eat at the Market, visitors should also stop off at the International Salon Culinaire.
The UK’s largest and most prestigious chef competition programme comprises of four competition categories – Salon Display, Live Theatre, Skills Theatre, and Sugarcraft – all showcasing the terrific skills and talent within the industry.
There won’t be a shortage of shows to see. In fact, there will be over 100 different competitions taking place over the three days, with a wide mix of skillsets to revel at.
The competitions will be a real exhibition of ability.
HRC also offers the opportunity to see some of the UK’s most talented chefs take to the stage.
HRC’s Staff Canteen Live stage hosts culinary greats and the hottest new chefs around, allowing you to get up close and personal with some of the industry’s biggest influencers.
This year will highlight ‘ones to watch’, who’ll be joined by their mentor’s past and present. There will also be seminars featuring some of the UK’s top front of house staff and their chefs, providing an insight into their partnership.
Some of the chefs to hit the stage this year are Michael Roux Jr, Tom Kerridge, Calum Franklin, and Sandia Chang.
Don’t miss your chance to witness top chefs cooking up a storm.
The Great British Drinks Movement is a new addition to HRC 2020.
This brand-new feature area will take place within The Foodservice Show at HRC and will be an area dedicated to British drinks. The Great British Drinks Movement will be a celebration of British drinks, bringing together a curated collection of suppliers to showcase their products and give visitors the chance to taste, learn about the drinks and source new drinks to improve their offering. There’s even an opportunity to taste a few tipples too.
And the Movement won’t be the only new addition to the drink’s arena.

Commercial kitchens are stressful enough, without also having to worry about the longevity and reliability of your vital refrigeration systems. This makes it essential to choose cooling solutions that are built to stand the test of time—and not simply be replaced in the short to medium term.
Electricity remains a significant ongoing overhead for Australian commercial kitchen operators.
